Anesthesiology & Reanimation

Operating Room

Our anesthesiology team at Yüreğir Hospital provides anesthesia services for surgeries related to general surgery, organ transplantation, cardiovascular surgery, thoracic surgery, neurosurgery, orthopedic surgery, ophthalmology, and urology. At Seyhan Hospital, the team handles pediatric surgery, ENT surgery, obstetrics and gynecology, and gynecological surgeries. Our anesthesiologists also provide clinical anesthesia services for day surgeries. These services include preoperative assessment, intraoperative care, and postoperative pain management, ensuring a painless and comfortable hospital experience for patients. They also play a role in pain management during and after childbirth through painless childbirth techniques.

During pre-surgery consultation, the anesthesiologist and patient discuss postoperative analgesia treatment. Current analgesia treatments include epidural and intrathecal opioid administration, continuous opioid infusion, and patient-controlled analgesia.

Non-Operating Room Procedures

Certain diagnostic and therapeutic procedures outside of the operating room environment also require anesthesia. Our anesthesia team assesses patients for these interventions. Using appropriate monitoring devices for routine care, they provide safe care and treatment environments through conscious or deep sedation, regional anesthesia, or general anesthesia in both pediatric and adult patients.

Such diagnostic procedures include magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), computed tomography (CT), scintigraphy, lumbar puncture and bone marrow biopsy in pediatric patients, endoscopic procedures, interventional radiology, and cardiac catheterization in adults.

Therapeutic procedures include intracerebral embolization, trans-vascular intrahepatic shunt placement, and minor surgical interventions. Depending on the patient's condition, these procedures can be performed in radiology laboratories, procedure rooms, examination rooms, endoscopy, or cardiac catheterization labs.

Kışla Health Campus

Our anesthesia team provides safe treatment and monitoring environments with sedation applications in procedures performed at our IVF Center, especially in radiation oncology treatments for pediatric patients, and during PET (Positron Emission Tomography) scans at Kışla Health Campus.

Preoperative Assessment

All surgical patients, especially those with complex medical problems, are preoperatively assessed by our team at the anesthesia clinic.

During this assessment, which is done up to two weeks before the surgery, patients are informed about the surgery and the type of anesthesia, special techniques, and medications to be used. This consultation also offers options for postoperative pain treatment.

Specialized Surgeries: Our cardiac anesthesia team provides services for heart transplantation, heart and lung surgery, and the placement of heart-assist devices.

Our neuroanesthesia team provides services for diagnostic or therapeutic procedures related to intracranial and spinal surgeries.

Our transplantation anesthesia team provides services for liver, kidney, lung, and heart transplant surgeries and takes care of postoperative intensive care if needed.

Intensive Care Unit

Our intensive care team provides continuous treatment services for surgical or non-surgical patients whose lives are in danger. Our Anesthesiology department's intensive care unit has 20 beds. The team also offers consultation services for patients in other intensive care units. Our intensive care unit operates with the highest level of medical technology for diagnosis and treatment processes.

Intensive care services include:

- Monitoring and treatment of patients after major surgeries

- Monitoring and treatment of patients after cancer surgery

- Monitoring and treatment of patients after serious trauma or injury
