Dentistry & Oral Surgery

Our department has a total of 4 units, one of which is used as an operating room unit. In these units, surgical interventions are performed under local anesthesia. In our clinic, surgical interventions such as extraction of normal and impacted teeth, correction of soft and hard tissues in the mouth before prosthesis (preprosthetic surgery), dental implant applications, sinus lift and augmentation techniques, and biomaterial applications, medical and surgical treatment of jaw and facial infections; treatment of jaw cysts and tumors, other oral lesions, salivary gland diseases, medical and surgical treatment of facial pain and temporomandibular joint (jaw joint) disorders are performed. Comprehensive interventions such as orthognathic surgery, which is performed to correct jaw and facial deformities when function and aesthetics cannot be achieved between the lower and upper jaws, are performed under general anesthesia at our university's Seyhan Hospital Campus.

Applications

All patients who visit our clinic for the first time for examination are taken panoramic radiographs. This method is widely used in dentistry for imaging the entire lower and upper teeth, lower and upper jaw bone, temporomandibular joint, maxillary sinus, and anatomical structures adjacent to these formations. If necessary, intraoral radiographs such as periapical and occlusal radiographs are also utilized. Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) is often used for imaging temporomandibular joint diseases and adjacent soft tissues, and computed tomography (CT) is one of the most commonly used radiological diagnostic methods for diagnosing maxillofacial hard tissue anomalies and diseases.
