What is Gastroenterology? What Are the Areas of Work of the Gastroenterology Department?

Gastroenterology is a branch of science that examines diseases of the digestive system canal, such as the esophagus, stomach, small intestine, large intestine (colon), and anal region, liver diseases, gallbladder and bile duct diseases, pancreatic diseases, and abdominal wall diseases. In other words, it deals with the diagnosis and treatment of diseases of all organs inside the abdomen (excluding the kidneys).
