Preventive Medicine (Preventive Healthcare) Unit

The aim of preventive healthcare is to prevent the occurrence of disease, minimize the impact of the disease, or in cases where these are not possible, to delay the progression of disease and disability. Our unit aims to provide continuous and comprehensive medical care to every individual seeking medical care, regardless of age, gender, or ailment. As part of this continuous and comprehensive care, the goal is to ensure the patient's health and improve their well-being through appropriate and effective interventions. Preventive health services are provided alongside therapeutic services to ensure the patient's health.

With the increase in life expectancy today, there has also been an increase in chronic diseases. Most of these chronic diseases (such as diabetes, hypertension, heart diseases, obesity, cancer) are due to preventable causes.

The objectives of our unit:

• Risk analysis in individuals to determine the burden of chronic diseases, prevention of cancer and other chronic diseases through control of environmental factors, and provision of counseling on topics such as nutrition, exercise, sleep, quality of life, mental health, vaccination to maintain and sustain well-being in healthy individuals (primary prevention),

• Early diagnosis of diseases in the asymptomatic stage through clinical and laboratory evaluations and screenings planned according to national and international guidelines, and referral for treatment to control the disease and minimize its consequences (secondary prevention),

• Interventions aimed at reducing potential complications of the disease through treatments and rehabilitation after the onset of the disease, preserving or improving the mental health and quality of life of individuals with chronic diseases and their families by enabling them to cope with the stress caused by these diseases (tertiary prevention).

Who can benefit from this unit?

• If you are a healthy individual or think you are healthy, or if you have family members with chronic diseases and you want to have your health checks, risk analysis, and receive counseling on desired topics,

• If you have a chronic disease and want to improve your quality of life,
